અથ તૃતીય સર્ગઃ

શો|| સ લમ્બ શિખરે લમ્બે લમ્બતોયદ સન્નિભે|
સત્ત્વમાસ્થાય મેધાવી હનુમાન્મારુતાત્મજઃ||1||
નિશિ લઙ્કાં મહોસત્ત્વો વિવેશ કપિકુંજરઃ|
રમ્યકાનન તોયાઢ્યાં પુરીં રાવણપાલિતામ્||2||

સ|| સ મેધાવી મારુતાત્મજઃ તોયદ સન્નિભે લંબ શિખરે સત્ત્વમ્ અસ્થાય (સઃ) મહાસત્ત્વઃ કપિકુંજરઃ રમ્યકાનન તોયાડ્યાં રાવણપાલિતાં લઙ્કાં વિવેશ||

That intelligent son of wind god relying on his own energy entered the city of Lanka which is on a tall peak resembling a mass of rain bearing clouds , which is rich in delightful forests, groves and pools, and which is ruled by Ravana.

શો|| શારદાંબુર પ્રખ્યૈઃ ભવનૈરુપશોભિતામ્|
સાગરોપમનિર્ઘોષાં સાગરાનિલસેવિતામ્||3||
સુપુષ્ઠબલસંપુષ્ઠાં યથૈવ વિટપાવતીમ્|
ચારુતોરણ નિર્યૂહાં પાણ્ડુરદ્વારતોરણામ્||4||
ભુજગાચરિતાં ગુપ્તાં શુભાં ભોગવતી મિવ|
તાં સવિદ્યુદ્ઘનાકીર્ણં જ્યોતિર્માર્ગનિષેવિતામ્||5||
મંદમારુત સંચારાં યથેંદ્રસ્ય અમરાવતીમ્|
શાતકુંભેન મહતા પ્રાકારેણાભિસંવૃતામ્||6||
કિંકિણીજાલઘોષાભિઃ પતાકાભિરલંકૃતામ્|
અસાદ્ય સહસા હૃષ્ટઃ પ્રાકારમભિપેદિવાન્||7||

સ|| ( હૃષ્ટઃ સહસા પ્રાકારં આસાદ્ય) શારદામ્બુધર પ્રખ્યૈઃ ભવનૈઃ ઉપશોભિતામ્ સાગરોપમ નિર્ઘોષામ્ સાગરા નિલસેવિતામ્ (તાં લઙ્કાં અભિપેદિવાન્)|| સુપુષ્ઠ બલસંપુષ્ઠામ્ યથૈવ વિટપાવતીં ચારુતોરણ નિર્યૂહામ્ પાણ્ડુરદ્વાર તોરણામ્ (તાં લઙ્કાં અભિપેદિવાન્) || ભુજગા ચરિતાં ગુપ્તાં શુભાં ભોગવતીં ઇવ (દૃશ્યામ્ તાં લઙ્કાં અભિપેદિવાન્)| સવિદ્યુત્ ઘનાકીર્ણમ્ જ્યોતિર્માર્ગ નિષેવિતામ્ તાં (લઙ્કાં અભિપેદિવાન્) || મંદમારુત સંચારાં મહતા શાતકુંભેન પ્રાકારેણ અભિસંવૃતાં યથા ઇંદ્રસ્ય અમરાવતીં (તાં લઙ્કાં અભિપેદિવાન્)|| કિંકિણી જાલઘોષાભિઃ પતાકાભીઃ અલંકૃતામ્ (તાં લઙ્કાં) હૃષ્ટઃ સહસા આસાદ્ય પ્રાકારં અભિપેદિવાન્||

Delighted Hanuman, having reached the ramparts, saw the Lanka which was full of mansions like beautiful autumnal clouds, which is served by the sea breeze with sounds of the roar of the sea, which is strong with well-nourished army stationed at the beautiful arch ways just like Vitapavathi , which is provided with white gates and arches, which is like Bhujagavati inhabited by snakes well protected and auspicious. Hanuman saw Lanka which is overcast with streaks of lightning , which is served by all planets and stars with winds blowing gently, which is like the city of Amaravati with golden ramparts adorned with jingling sounds of small bells and decorated with flags everywhere.

શો|| વિસ્મયાવિષ્ઠહૃદયઃ પુરીમાલોક્ય સર્વતઃ|
જાંબૂનદમયૈર્દ્વારૈઃ વૈઢૂર્યકૃતવેદિકૈઃ ||8||
વજ્રસ્ફટિકમુક્તાભિઃ મણિકુટ્ટિમભૂષિતૈઃ|
તપ્તહાટકનિર્યૂહૈ રાજતામલપાણ્ડુરૈઃ||9||
વૈઢૂર્યકૃતસોપાનૈઃ સ્ફાટિકાંતર પાંસુભિઃ|
ચારુસંજવનોપેતૈઃ ખમિવોત્પતૈ શ્શુભૈઃ||10||
ક્રૌંચબર્હિણસંઘુષ્ઠૈઃ રાજહંસનિષેવિતૈઃ|
તૂર્યાભરણનિર્ઘોષૈઃ સર્વતઃ પ્રતિનાદિતામ્||11||
વસ્વૌકસારાપ્રતિમાં તાં વીક્ષ્ય નગરીં તતઃ |
ખમિવોત્પતિતું કામાં જહર્ષ હનુમાન્ કપિઃ||12||

સ|| સર્વતઃ (સ)જામ્બૂનદમયૈઃ દ્વારૈઃ (સ)વૈઢૂર્યકૃત વેદિકૈઃ પુરીં આલોક્ય વિસ્મયા વિષ્ઠહૃદયઃ , વજ્ર સ્ફટિકમુક્તાભિઃ (સ)મણિકુટ્ટિમભૂષિતૈઃ તપ્તહાટકનિર્યૂહૈઃ રાજતામલપાણ્ડુરૈઃ ,(સ)વૈઢૂર્યકૃત સોપાનૈઃ (સ)સ્ફાટિકાંતર પાંસુભિઃ ચારુસંજવનોપેતૈઃ ખમિવોત્પત્તૈઃ શુભૈઃ , ક્રૌંચબર્હિણ સંઘુષ્ઠૈઃ રાજહંસ નિષેવિતૈઃ તૂર્યાભરણ નિર્ઘોષૈઃ પ્રતિનાદિતાં ખમિવોત્પતિતું વસ્વૌકસારાપ્રતિમાં તાં નગરીં વીક્ષ્ય હનુમાન્ કપિઃ જહર્ષ||

Seeing the city full of golden gates, platforms made of gold encrusted with Vaidhuryas, diamonds, crystals and pearls, studded with diamonds, pure silver floors, stair cases encrusted with Vaidhurya and covered with crystal grains, lovely quadrangles echoing with the sounds of Krauncha birds and peacocks , inhabited by royal swans , filled with sounds of auspicious musical instruments raising to the sky resounding all over like the city of Vaswokasara, Hanuman the Vanara was delighted.

શો|| તાં સમીક્ષ્ય પુરીમ્ રમ્યાં રાક્ષસાધિપતે શ્શુભામ્|
અનુત્તમાં વૃદ્ધિયુતાં ચિંતયામાસ વીર્યવાન્||13||

સ|| શુભાં રમ્યાં અનુત્તમાં વૃદ્ધિયુતાં રાક્ષસાધિપતેઃ તાં પુરીં વીક્ષ્ય વીર્યવાન્ હનુમતઃ ચિન્તયામાસ||

Seeing the incomparable, auspicious, beautiful, prosperous city the mighty Hanuman started to think.

શો|| નેયમન્યેન નગરી શક્યા ધર્ષયિતું બલાત્ |
રક્ષિતા રાવણ બલૈઃ ઉદ્યતાયુધદારિભિઃ ||14||

સ||ઉદ્યતાયુધધારુભિઃ રાવણ બલૈઃ રક્ષિતા ઇયં નગરો અન્યેન બલાત્ ધર્ષયિતું ન શક્યા||

This city protected by Ravana forces which are ready to fight cannot be overtaken by force.

શો|| કુમુદાઙ્ગદયોર્વાપિ સુષેણસ્ય મહાકપેઃ|
પ્રસિદ્ધેયં ભવેત્ ભૂમિઃ મૈન્દદ્વિવિદયો રપિ||15||

સ|| ઇયં ભૂમિઃ કુમુદાઙ્ગદયોર્વાપિ મહાકપેઃ સુષેણસ્ય મૈન્દદ્વિવિદયોરપિ પ્રસિદ્ધા ભવેત્||

This place may be known to Kumuda, Angada or the great Vanara Sushena, as also
Mainda and Dvivida.

શો|| વિવસ્વત સ્તનૂજસ્ય હરેશ્ચ કુશપર્વણઃ|
ઋક્ષસ્ય કેતુમાલસ્ય મમ ચૈવ ગતિર્ભવેત્ ||16||

સ|| (ઇયં ભૂમિઃ) વિવસ્વતઃ તનૂજસ્ય હરેઃ કુષપર્વણઃ ઋક્ષસ્ય કેતુમાલસ્ય મમ ચ ગતિઃ ભવેત્||

The son of Vivaswan, the chief of Vanaras (Sugriva) , Kusaparva, Riksha and myself also will be able to reach this place.

શો|| સમીક્ષ્યતુ મહાબાહૂ રાઘવસ્ય પરાક્રમમ્|
લક્ષ્મણસ્ય વિક્રાન્તં અભવત્પ્રીતિમાન્ કપિઃ||17||

સ|| કપિઃ મહાબાહુઃ રાઘવસ્ય પરાક્રમં લક્ષમણસ્ય વિક્રાન્તં ચ સમીક્ષ્ય પ્રીતિમાન્ અભવત્ ||

The Vanara remembering the valor of mighty Rama and the valiant Lakshmana was happy.

શો|| તાં રત્ન વસનોપેતાં કોષ્ઠાગારાવતંસકામ્|
યંત્રાગારાસ્તનીમૃદ્ધાં પ્રમદામિવ ભૂષિતામ્||18||
તાં નષ્ઠતિમિરાં દીપ્તૈર્ભાસ્વરૈશ્ચ મહાગૃહૈઃ|
નગરીં રાક્ષસેંદ્રસ્ય સ દદર્શ મહાકપિઃ||19||

સ|| સઃ મહાકપિઃ ભાસ્વરૈશ્ચ દીપ્તૈઃ નષ્ઠતિમિરાં મહાગૃહૈઃ તાં રાક્ષસેન્દ્રસ્ય નગરીં રત્ન વસનોપેતાં કોષ્ઠાગારવતંસકામ્ યન્ત્રાગારાં સ્તનીં ઋદ્ધાં ભૂષિતામ્ પ્રમદામિવ દદર્શ ||

Hanuman looked at the city of the Rakshasa King whose darkness was dispelled by the bright gems and great mansions as if it were a young maiden. The prosperous city was like a well decorated woman adorned with ornament with walls for her dress, the stables for her ear rings, and the armories for her breasts.

શો|| અથ સા હરિશાર્દૂલં પ્રવિશંતં મહાબલઃ|
નગરીસ્વેન રૂપેણ દદર્શ પવનાત્મજમ્||20||

સ|| અથ મહાબલઃ હરિશાર્દૂલં પ્રવિશંતં પવનાત્મજં સા નગરી સ્વેન રૂપેણ દદર્શ||

The mighty Hanuman, a tiger among Vanaras entering the city was seen by Lanka, the presiding deity herself.

શો|| સા તં હરિવરં દૃષ્ટ્વા લઙ્કારાવણપાલિતા|
સ્વયમેવોથ્થિતા તત્ર વિકૃતાનન દર્શના||21||

સ|| રાવણપાલિતા સા લઙ્કા તં હરિવરં દૃષ્ટ્વા વિકૃતાનન દર્શના તત્ર સ્વયમેવ ઉત્થિતા ||

Seeing the best of Vanaras, the ugly looking Lanka ruled by Ravana rose up.

શો|| પુરસ્તાત્ કપિવર્યસ્ય વાયુસૂનોરતિષ્ઠત|
મુઞ્ચમાના મહાનાદં અબ્રવીત્ પવનાત્મજમ્||22||

સ|| કપિવર્યસ્ય વાયુસૂનોઃ પુરસ્તાત્ અતિષ્ઠત | મહાનાદં મુઞ્ચમાના પવનાત્મજં અબ્રવીત્||

She stood Infront of the best of Vanaras. Making a great sound she spoke.

શો|| કસ્ત્વં કેન ચ કાર્યેણ ઇહ પ્રાપ્તો વનાલય|
કથય સ્વેહ યત્તત્વં યાવત્પ્રાણાધરંતિ તે ||23||

સ|| (હે) વનાલય કઃ ત્વં| કેન કાર્યેણ ઇહ પ્રાપ્તઃ ચ| યાવત્ તે પ્રાણાઃ ધરન્તિ ઇહ યત્ તત્ત્વં (તત્) કથયસ્વ||

'Oh Forest dweller who are you ? For what reason have you come here? Speak the truth about yourself till you have a hold on your life.

શો|| ન શક્યં ખલ્વિયં લઙ્કા પ્રવેષ્ઠું વાનર ત્વયા |
રક્ષિતા રાવણ બલૈઃ અભિગુપ્તાસમંતતઃ||24||

સ|| (હે) વાનર રાવણ બલૈઃ સમન્તતઃ રક્ષિતા અભિગુપ્તા લઙ્કા પ્રવેષ્ઠું ત્વયા ન શક્યં||

Oh Vanara protected by Ravana forces everywhere it is not possible for you to enter this city Lanka in secret.

શો|| અથ તામબ્રવીદ્વીરો હનુમાનગ્રતસ્થિતામ્|
કથયિષ્યામિ તે તત્ત્વં યન્માં ત્વં પરિપૃચ્છસિ||25||
કા ત્વં વિરૂપનયના પુરદ્વારે અવતિષ્ઠસિ|
કિમર્થં ચાપિ માં રુદ્દ્વા નિર્ભર્ત્સયસિ દારુણા||26||

સ|| અથ અગ્રત સ્થિતામ્ તાં વીરઃ હનુમાન્ અબ્રવીત્| યત્ ત્વાં માં પરિપૃચ્છસિ તત્ત્વં તે કથયિષ્યામિ|| હે દારુણા વિરૂપ નયના પુરદ્વારે અવતિષ્ઠસિ કા ત્વં | કિં અર્થમ્ માં રુદ્ધ્વા નિર્ભર્ત્સસિ |

Then the valiant Hanuman spoke to that one standing in front of him. 'I will tell you what you are asking me. oh Dreadful woman with distorted eyes ! Who are you standing at the city gates? Why are you threatening me?'

શો|| હનુમાદ્વચનં શ્રુત્વા લઙ્કા સા કામરૂપિણી|
ઉવાચ વચનં ક્રુદ્ધા પરુષં પવનાત્મજમ્||27||
અહં રાક્ષસરાજસ્ય રાવણસ્ય મહાત્મનઃ|
અજ્ઞાપ્રતીક્ષા દુર્દર્ષા રક્ષામિ નગરીં ઇમામ્||28||

સ|| હનુમાત્ તત્ વચનં શ્રુત્વા સા કામરૂપિણી લઙ્કા કૃદ્ધા પવનાત્મજં પરુષં વચનં ઉવાચ||અહં મહાત્મનઃ રાક્ષસ રાજસ્ય આજ્ઞાપ્રતીક્ષા ઇમામ્ દુર્ધર્ષા નગરીં રક્ષામિ ||

Hearing those words of Hanuman the angered Lanka who can assume any form spoke harsh words to the son of wind god. 'I am protecting this invincible city following the orders of the demon king'.

શો|| ન શક્યા મામવજ્ઞાય પ્રવેષ્ઠું નગરી ત્વયા|
અદ્ય પ્રાણૈઃ પરિત્યક્તઃ સ્વપ્સ્યસે નિહતો મયા||29||
અહં હિ નગરી લઙ્કા સ્વયમેવ પ્લવંગમ|
સર્વતઃ પરિરક્ષામિ હ્યેતત્તે કથિતં મયા||30||

સ|| માં અવજ્ઞાય ત્વયા નગરીં પ્રવેષ્ઠું ન શક્યા| અદ્ય મયા નિહતઃ પ્રાણૈઃ પરિત્યક્તઃ સ્વપ્સ્યસે|| હે પ્લવંગમ ! અહં સ્વયમેવ નગરી લઙ્કા | સર્વતઃ પરિરક્ષામિ એતત્ તે કથિતં||

'Ignoring my presence it is not possible for you to enter the city. Today killed by me giving up life you will go to eternal sleep. Oh Hanuman I am the deity of Lanka. I will be protecting the city all over. This is my answer to you'.

શો|| લઙ્કાયા વચનં શ્રુત્વા હનુમાન્મારુતાત્મજઃ|
યત્નવાન્ સ હરિશ્રેષ્ઠઃ સ્થિતશ્શૈલ ઇવાપરઃ||31||
સ તાં સ્ત્રીરૂપ વિકૃતાં દૃષ્ટ્વા વાનરપુંગવઃ|
અબભાષેઽથ મેધાવી સત્ત્વવાન્ પ્લવગર્ષભઃ||32||

સ||મારુતાત્મજઃ સઃ હનુમાન્ લઙ્કાયાઃ વચનં શ્રુત્વા યત્નવાન્ સઃ હરિશ્રેષ્ઠઃ અપરં શૈલઃ ઇવ સ્થિતઃ||સઃ મેધાવી સત્ત્વવાન્ પ્લવગર્ષભઃ વાનપુંગવઃ સ્ત્રીરૂપ વિકૃતાં તાં અબભાષે||

The son of wind god, Hanuman hearing those words of Lanka stood Infront of her like another mountain. That intelligent powerful Hanuman, a bull among Vanaras spoke to that monstrous looking woman.

શો|| દ્રક્ષ્યામિ નગરીં લઙ્કાં સાટ્ટપ્રાકારતોરણામ્|
ઇત્યર્થમિહ સંપ્રાપ્તઃ પરં કૌતૂહલમ્ હિ મે ||33||
વવાન્યુપવનાનીહ લઙ્કાયાઃ કાનનાનિચ |
સર્વતો ગૃહમુખ્યાનિ દ્રષ્ટુમાગમનં હિ મે|| 34||

સ|| સાટ્ટપ્રાકારતોરણાં લઙ્કાં દ્રક્ષ્યામિ | ઇત્યર્થં ઇહ સંપ્રાપ્તઃ | મે પરં કૌતૂહલં હિ||ઇહ વનાનિ ઉપવનાનિ કાનનાનિ ચ મુખ્યાનિ ગૃહાનિ સર્વતઃ દ્રષ્ઠું મે આગમનં હિ||

'I have great curiosity. I have come to see the market places, ramparts and gateways. I have arrived here to see the gardens groves and forests as well as the main palaces'.

શો|| તસ્ય તદ્વચનં શ્રુત્વા લઙ્કા સા કામરૂપિણી|
ભૂય એવ પુનર્વાક્યં બભાષે પરુષાક્ષરમ્||35||
મામનિર્જિત્ય દુર્બુદ્ધે રાક્ષસેશ્વરપાલિતામ્|
ન શક્યમદ્ય તે દ્રષ્ટું પુરીયં વાનરાધમા||36||

સ|| તસ્ય તત્ વચનં શ્રુત્વા સા કામરૂપિણી ભૂય એવ પુનઃ પરુષાક્ષરં (વાક્યં) બભાષે|| હે દુર્બુદ્ધે વાનરાધમા માં અનિર્જિત્ય રાક્ષસેશ્વર પાલિતાં ઇયં પુરીં અદ્ય તે દ્રષ્ઠું ન શક્યં||

Hearing those words that ogress who can assume any form again spoke with harsh words. 'Oh Evil minded foolish monkey , without conquering me it is not possible for you to enter the city ruled by the king of demons'.

શો|| તતસ્સ કપિશાર્દૂલઃ તાં ઉવાચ નિશાચરીમ્|
દૃષ્ટ્વાપુરીં ઇમાં ભદ્રે પુનર્યાસ્યે યથાગતમ્||37||

સ|| તતઃ સ કપિ શાર્દૂલઃ તાં નિશાચરીમ્ (પુનઃ ઉવાચ) ||હે ભદ્રે ઇમાં પુરીં દૃષ્ટ્વા યથાગતં પુનઃ યાસ્યે||

Then the tiger among Vanaras again spoke to the night walker.''Oh Noble lady, having seen the city I will go back the way I came.'

શો|| તતઃ કૃત્વા મહાનાદં સાવૈ લઙ્કા ભયાવહં |
તલેન વાનરશ્રેષ્ઠં તાડયામાસ વેગિતા ||38||
તતસ્સ કપિશાર્દૂલો લઙ્કયા તાડિતો ભૃશમ્|
નનાદ સુ મહાનાદં વીર્યવાન્ પવનાત્મજઃ||39||

સ|| તતઃ ભયાવહં મહાનાદં કૃત્વા સા લઙ્કા વેગિતા તલેન વાનરશ્રેષ્ઠં તાડાયામાસ | તતઃ લઙ્કયા ભૃશં તાડિતઃ કપિશાર્દૂલઃ વીર્યવાન્ મારુતાત્મજઃ સુ મહાનાદં નનાદ||

Then that Lanka making a frightening sound speedily hit Hanuman the best of Vanaras with her palm. Then thus hit badly by Lanka , the powerful son of wind god roared loudly.

શો|| તતસ્સંવર્તયામાસ વામહસ્તસ્યસોઽઙ્ગુળીઃ|
મુષ્ઠિનાઽભિજઘાનૈનાં હનુમાન્ ક્રોધમૂર્ચ્છિતઃ||40||
સ્ત્રીચેતિ મન્યમાનેન નાતિ ક્રોધઃ સ્વયં કૃતઃ|
સા તુ તેન પ્રહારેણ વિહ્વલાઙ્ગી નિશાચરી||41||
પપાત સહસા ભુમૌ વિકૃતાનન દર્શના|
તતસ્તુ હનુમાન્ પ્રાજ્ઞસ્તાં દૃષ્ટ્વા વિનિપાતિતામ્||42||
કૃપાં ચકાર તેજસ્વી મન્યમાનઃ સ્ત્રિયમ્ તુ તામ્|

સ|| તતઃ સઃ હનુમાન્ ક્રોધમૂર્છિતઃ વામ હસ્તસ્ય અઙ્ગુળીઃસંવર્તયામાસ | એનામ્ મુષ્ટિના અભિજઘાન||સ્ત્રી ચ ઇતિ મન્યમાનેન સ્વયં અતિક્રોધઃ ન કૃતઃ| સા નિશાચરી તુ તેન પ્રહારેણ વિહ્વલાઙ્ગી વિકૃતાનન દર્શના સહસા ભૂમૌ પપાત ||તતઃ પ્રાજ્ઞઃ વિનિપાતિતાં તાં દૃષ્ટ્વા તાં સ્ત્રિયં તુ મન્યમાનઃ કૃપાં ચકાર |

Then Hanuman overcome by anger clenched the fingers of his left hand and hit her with his fist. Considering that she is a woman he did not become too angry. That ugly looking night dweller with limbs shattered by that hit at once fell on the ground. Then seeing the fallen Lanka , considering that she is a woman Hanuman showed compassion.

શો|| તતો વૈભૃશ સંવિગ્ના લઙ્કા સા ગદ્ગદાક્ષરમ્||43||
ઉવાચ ગર્વિતં વાક્યં હનૂમંતં પ્લવઙ્ગમમ્|
પ્રસીદ સુમહાબાહો ત્રાયસ્વ હરિસત્તમ||44||
સમયે સૌમ્ય તિષ્ઠંતિ સત્ત્વવંતો મહાબલાઃ|
અહં તુ નગરી લઙ્કા સ્વયમેવ પ્લવઙ્ગમ||45||

સ|| તતઃ સા લઙ્કા ભૃશ સંવિગ્ના ગદ્ ગદાક્ષરં અગર્વિતં પ્લવઙ્ગમમ્ હનૂમંતં ઉવાચ| હે મહાબાહો પ્રસીદ | હરિસત્તમ ત્રાયસ્વ|| સૌમ્ય સત્ત્વવંતઃ મહાબલાઃ સમયે તિષ્ઠંતિ | પ્લવઙ્ગમ અહં તુ સ્વયમેવ નગરી લઙ્કા ||

Then the greatly agitated Lanka spoke with choked voice to Hanuman the best among flyers. Oh Great armed one ! Be gracious. Oh Best of monkeys save me. Oh Noble one ! Great people hold back when time comes. Oh Best among flyers I am the deity of Lanka.'

ઇદં તુ તથ્યં શૃણૂવૈ બ્રુવંત્યા હરીશ્વર||46||
સ્વયંભુવા પુરા દત્તં વરદાનં યથા મમ|
યદા ત્વાં વાનરઃ કશ્ચિત્ વિક્રમાત્ વશમાનયેત્||47||
તદા ત્વયા હિ વિજ્ઞેયં રક્ષસાં ભયમાગતમ્
સ હિ મે સમયઃ સૌમ્ય પ્રાપ્તોsદ્યતવદર્શનાત્||48||

સ|| હે વીર મહાબલ અહં ત્વયા વિક્રમેણ નિર્જિતા| હરીશ્વરા ઇદં તુ તથ્યં શૃણુવૈ|| પુરા સ્વયંભુવા મમ દત્તં વરદાનં યથા | યદા ત્વાં કશ્ચિત્ વાનરઃ વિક્રમાત્ વશમાનયેત્ તદા રક્ષસાં ભયમાગયેત્ (ઇતિ) ત્વયા હિ વિજ્ઞેયં || હે સૌમ્ય સ સમયઃ મે તવ દર્શનાત્ સંપ્રાપ્તઃ||

'Oh Valiant and mighty one, I have been conquered by your valor. Oh Best of monkeys this is certain please hear. In the past the creator gave me a boon. When a Vanara vanquishes you by his prowess you may know that the destruction of Rakshasa will set in. Oh Noble one that time has come with your appearance.

શો|| સ્વયંભૂવિહિતઃ સત્યો ન તસ્યાસ્તિ વ્યતિક્રમઃ |
સીતાનિમિત્તં રાજ્ઞસ્તુ રાવણસ્ય દુરાત્મનઃ||49||
રક્ષસાં ચૈવ સર્વેષાં વિનાશઃ સમુપાગતઃ|
તત્પ્રવિશ્ય હરિશ્રેષ્ઠ પુરીં રાવણપાલિતામ્||50 ||
વિધત્સ્વસર્વ કાર્યાણિ યાનિ યાનીહ વાંચ્છસિ||51||

સ|| સ્વયંભૂવિહિતઃ | સત્યઃ| તસ્ય વ્યતિક્રમઃ ન અસ્તિ|| દુરાત્મનઃ રાજ્ઞ્જઃ રાવણસ્ય સર્વેષાં રક્ષસાં ચ સીતાનિમિત્તં વિનાશઃ સમુપાગતઃ|| હે હરિશ્રેષ્ઠ તતઃ રાવણ પાલિતાં પુરીં ઇહ પ્રવિશ્ય યાનિ યાનિ કાર્યાણિ વાંચ્છસિ તત્ સર્વકાર્યાણિ વિધત્સ્વ||

'What has been ordained by the creator cannot be overcome. The ruin of evil minded king Ravana as well as all Rakshasas will come because of Sita. Oh Best of monkeys so enter this city ruled by Ravana and do whatever works you intended to do'.

શો|| પ્રવિશ્ય શાપોપહતં હરીશ્વરઃ
શુભાં પુરીં રાક્ષસ મુખ્યપાલિતામ્|
યદૃચ્છયા ત્વં જનકાત્મજાં સતીમ્
વિમાર્ગ સર્વત્ર ગતો યથા સુખમ્||52||

સ||હરીશ્વર શાપોપહતં રાક્ષસમુખ્ય પાલિતાં શુભાં પુરીં યદૃચ્છયા પ્રવિશ્ય ત્વં સર્વત્ર ગતઃ યથાસુખં સતીં જનકાત્મજાં વિમાર્ગસ્વ||

'Oh Best of monkeys ! having entered the city doomed by the curse and ruled by the chief of Rakshasas ,you may go everywhere and search for the chaste daughter of Janaka !.'

ઇત્યાર્ષે શ્રીમદ્રામાયણે આદિકાવ્યે વાલ્મીકીયે
ચતુર્વિંશત્ સહસ્રિકાયાં સંહિતાયામ્
શ્રીમત્સુન્દરકાણ્ડે તૃતીય સ્સર્ગઃ||

Thus ends the third Sarga of Sundarakanda in Ramayana, the first ever poem of mankind composed by Maharshi Valmiki.
